Extremely youthful ruby color with a hint of garnet. Berry currant and mint character with an earth note. Full-bodied extremely concentrated yet sweet and fruity with fine tannins and a long long finish. Inspirational... Extremely youthful ruby color with a hint of garnet. Inspirational; never considered classic by many people but it's very great indeed.--1982 Bordeaux horizontal. Best after 2004. (JS)

Like many top vintages of Lynch-Bages 1982 has been drinkable since its release in 1985. The color exhibits little evolution remaining a saturated dark ruby/purple. The nose is full of ripe blackcurrant aromas... Like many top vintages of Lynch-Bages 1982 has been drinkable since its release in 1985. The color exhibits little evolution remaining a saturated dark ruby/purple. The nose is full of ripe blackcurrant aromas intertwined with scents of leather and spicy oak. This unctuously textured rich full-bodied concentrated Lynch-Bages is intense and dramatic. Although low in acidity it retains considerable tannic clout. If you like to drink claret young with an edge on it you will enjoy it as much as I did. Another 4-5 years of cellaring might prove beneficial; it will easily keep through the first decade of the next century. Along with the 1961 1970 1986 1989 and 1990 it is one of this estate's finest wines in the last thirty years. Last tasted 6/93.</P>
