Coffee grounds and a good tannic hold, with excellent balance between acidity and tannins pinning the bramble fruit into place. Here you can practically feel the molecules colliding, getting up close and personal. A subtle array of leather, undergrowth, tobacco and saffron. The tannins here are extremely delicate, but still pinning the fruit into place. Once again it is the salinity and freshness on the finish that makes you smile. The nose doesn't hold together as well as some when you go back to it, with some port and dried fruit notes emerging. A second bottle was better, but that is the risk with older wines.
