The 1991 Richebourg Grand Cru is showing very well, wafting from the glass with complex aromas of sweet spices, smoked duck, cassis, dried berries, smoke and espresso roast. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and layered, with a rich core of creamy fruit, lively acids and satiny tannins, displaying a compelling sense of completeness and concluding with a long, sapid finish. On this occasion, the 1991 outperformed both the 1989 and 1991 served alongside. - William Kelley
