Modern style of Barolo. Dark in color, full in body, smooth in texture, with oak-infused violet, mocha, spice and lovely blackberry, cassis and floral character. Well balanced, with ripe tannins. Excellent concentration... Modern style of Barolo. Dark in color, full in body, smooth in texture, with oak-infused violet, mocha, spice and lovely blackberry, cassis and floral character. The 1993 Bric del Fiasc, tasted from an extremely rare 5-liter bottle, displays complex notes of licorice, tar, flowers and sweet fruit in a full-bodied style for the vintage. The 1993 Bric del Fiasc, tasted from an extremely rare 5-liter bottle, displays complex notes of licorice, tar, flowers and sweet fruit in a full-bodied style for the vintage. It offers notable finesse and well-integrated tannins. Still fresh, it should drink well for at least another decade. It offers noticeably better balance than the 1995 which was tasted in the same flight. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2016. - Antonio Galloni
