Medium body with fine...   I drank this at one of my favorite wine destinations in Tuscany: L'Enoteca Marcucci in Pietrasanta. 1994 is a weak year for Tuscany, but this wine goes. Pleasant and fruity but a little diluted. Medium body with fine tannins and a light finish. This was never great, but delicious.

The resulting wine is...   The 1994 was, with 1991 and 1992, one of the most challenging vintages of the ‘90s due to a cool and rainy season. This was also the first harvest for newly planted vineyards in the Bellaria plot. The resulting wine is full of cedar wood, fresh bramble fruit and dried flower aromas, with some roasted nuts. It's leaner on the palate compared to other vintages, with crunchy, rustic tannins and crisp acidity, displaying its more 'northern' personality: a chewy wine, restrained yet youthful.

While the 1994 lacks the complexity of the finest vintages it nevertheless possesses lovely overall balance and harmony.
