Very pure and fragrant on the nose, with ripe, warm, red and black fruit characters. Acidity and tannins are a little more grippy and grainy, but there is no shortage of concentration or weight. Some leathery notes on the finish, slightly drying at the end but still impressive for its age. Plantings of Merlot continued to increase with the proportion being 60% in 1995.
