Dark ruby color. Very complex aromas of crushed raspberry, violet and hints of toasty oak. Full-bodied, with very silky tannins and beautiful fresh mineral, licorice and blackberry character. Long and caressing. So fresh... Dark ruby color. Very complex aromas of crushed raspberry, violet and hints of toasty oak. Incredibly pure fruit defines the sturdy, entirely inviting nose. This is one juicy, rock steady wine; the tannic structure is that of a fortress. There’s unadulterated fruit at every checkpoint, and it hits like a hammer... Incredibly pure fruit defines the sturdy, entirely inviting nose. This is one juicy, rock steady wine; the tannic structure is that of a fortress. There’s unadulterated fruit at every checkpoint, and it hits like a hammer as it transitions from palate to finish. To drink now would require rich, rich food. It’s such a baby; drink not before 2007, if possible.

Bright crimson. Fully evolved nose. Very fresh and lively - great balance and great zest - rather unlike current Brunello! A lovely palate scrub and refresher. 18/20

Vibrant aromas of cassis, redcurrant, chocolate, mocha and violet. Large-scaled and rich yet also stylish and sharply delineated, with superripe berry, cherry pie and chocolate flavors framed by piquant acidity and lifted by a floral nuance. Finishes with superb vinosity and length, the firm but ripe tannins melting into the wine's powerful fruit. A classic examples of this vintage. 91+

Fuligni

Fuligni is a family-owned estate on the eastern side of Montalcino. The vines, which extend over ten hectares, are primarily located at Cottimelli with altitudes varying from 1,250 to 1,500 feet. Average age of the vines is about twelve years with some dating back more than thirty years. The estate’s four vineyards are planted with Sangiovese, complemented by a small portion of Merlot.

The Fuligni range consists of the regular Brunello, a Brunello Riserva, a Rosso (Ginestreto), and an IGT Toscana made from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot.
