Explosive superripe aromas of macerated black cherries woodsmoke and ash with distinct notes of port-like surmaturite: molasses maple syrup and roasted black fruits. Superconcentrated and extremely ripe but with enough acidity to keep the confit of dark fruit flavors sappy and fresh. Jamet compares this wine to the outstanding '91 which is developing slowly. I find it a bit more roasted but with great character and potential for the vintage.
