There are approximately 250 cases of the 1997 Pinot Noir Cuvee Catherine. Like its siblings it has over 14% alcohol but that is totally obscured by the wine's sensational concentration extract and overall equilibrium. A dense ruby/purple-colored full-bodied Pinot Noir it offers up aromas of blackberries raspberries and cherry liqueur intermixed with licorice smoke and meat. Chewy yet not heavy this wine does reveal some tannin but it is largely hidden by the wine's fruit glycerin and extract. Wow what an amazing performance!This wine is among of the most spectacular Pinot Noirs I have ever tasted.
