(NM89-90 points) Dense blackcurrant tarry nose. Palate is quite austere with cassis and liquorish fruit. Medium-bodied with firm tannins. Very structured, I am quite impressed with this wine. Very structured, I am quite impressed with this wine. Tougher than 97. Retasted at Paragon Vintners in February 2003 and this is developing beautifully: a leafy, earthy nose with sturdy, masculine palate. A little dry on the finish. Not far behind Mouton which was tasted alongside!
