A blend of equal parts barrique-aged Nebbiolo and Barbera the outstanding 1998 Monpra exhibits a dark ruby color with purple hues. A sweet perfume of red and black fruits smoke licorice and flowers jumps from the glass. On the palate it is Burgundian-like in its medium-bodied plush round beautifully pure style with excellent texture.
