Lush sweet and smooth with a chewy impression of extract. Much more vigorous than the young 2000 but rather imploded in the middle palate despite its impressive richness. Notes of chocolate and menthol. Finishes with slow-building granular sweet tannins and excellent grip and length. Should make a classic Barolo. This was due to be bottled the week after my visit a couple months later than normal. 91-93 points
