I love the domaine version of Chambolle AC from the Seysses family, and this wine is really a superb village wine in the making. The deep, ripe and very pure nose offers up scents of black cherries, plums, cocoa, a lovely touch of soil, incipient notes of sous bois and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and quite plush on the attack, with a sappy core, nice acids and a long, modestly tannic and classy finish. I had no trouble drinking this wine with great pleasure, but it will be significantly better with further bottle age and, due to its impeccable balance, should prove to be a very long-lived and outstanding example of Chambolle AC.
