Both the Les Rocoules and l'Ermite components of the 1999 Hermitage Cuvee Emilie rouge were tasted. Les Rocoules is full-bodied and tannic with higher acidity as well as a closed personality. L'Ermite (70% of the final blend) reveals elegance in addition to oodles of blackberry and cherry fruit infused with smoke minerals and spicy new oak. Powerful and concentrated the final blend will require 5-6 years of aging and should drink well for nearly three decades.
