A candidate for wine of the vintage is the 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Boisrenard. Subtle aromas of vanillin intermixed with blackberry black cherry chocolate and espresso characteristics explode from the glass. In the mouth there is firm tannin as well as enormous fruit undeniable southern Rhone typicity powerful concentrated thick flavors and a finish that lasts for 45+ seconds. This is a stunning effort for Boisrenard. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020.

Immense. Dark and rich thick and ripe this serious wine is loaded with black fruit massive ripe tannins and lots of toasted oak notes heavy with chocolate and mocha accents.
