Saturated deep ruby. Extremely primary liqueur-like aromas of blackberry blueberry violet espresso and tar; I was alternately reminded of syrah and Saint-Emilion. Bright and tightly wound with a primary grapey quality... Saturated deep ruby. Extremely primary liqueur-like aromas of blackberry blueberry violet espresso and tar; I was alternately reminded of syrah and Saint-Emilion. Bright and tightly wound with a primary grapey quality. Less impressive today in the middle palate than the '99 but this is still quite unformed. Best now on the very long finish which features fine mounting tannins that hit the palate very late.
