In principle this is the luxury cuvee from the vineyards of Haut-Bergey. The spectacular 2000 Branon is one of the exceptional efforts of Pessac-Leognan and the 2001 is outstanding. Aromas of melted licorice smoke crushed stones truffles and black currants are followed by an elegant medium to full-bodied pure dense wine with no hard edges. It should evolve quickly and drink well for 12-13 years.
