This wine seems to be in the process of putting on some weight and texture. Dark ruby/purple with a sweet nose of black cherries currants plums earth and licorice the wine is medium-bodied with a nice plush entry on the palate adequate acidity and moderately ripe tannin in the finish. It does not appear to have the volume depth and power of the 2000 but there are good things going on. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2013.
