Bright gold in the glass, this early century Sauternes has an inviting nose of peach and orange marmalade, vanilla bean, honey and spring flowers with a hint on sage if you dig deep. It springs to life on the palate with a burst of acidity that yields to the marmalade fruit and honey once is subsides. This Sauternes is nicely balanced, and carries you through a long, satisfying finish. It is drinking beautifully right now but it ought to last another decade and a half in the cellar. Pair this with any dessert that has cream or custard and you’re set for a great finish to any meal.
