Deep-flavoured base of ripe, well-balanced fruit. I had a bit of trouble tasting this en primeur when three different samples tasted very markedly different so I ended up giving it a mark of 16.5. Now it’s looking very promising. 18/20

Again that barley sugar note comes through giving it a Barsac harmonious with a little mandarin and some lemon curd. Still a little tight. The palate is balanced with ripe honeyed fruit orange rind and a touch of Seville orange marmalade. Nice taut finish with good acidity the mineralite compensating for a lack of depth. Very fine for the vintage. Tasted February 2011.

Ultraclean with apple vanilla and honey aromas that follow through to a full-bodied palate medium sweetness and a long caressing finish. Delicate and balanced. Best after 2007. -JS
