The initial hints of secondary aromas can be discerned though the plum red currant and blue berry liqueur aromas are still reasonably fresh and not at all roasted in character. The rich full-bodied and concentrated flavors possess good power but again the mouth feel is quite sophisticated especially in the context of the vintage. An elegant but built-to-age 2003. Outstanding.

Deep translucent ruby turning pale to clear at the rim. This is simply a gorgeous example of Grand Epenots that although nine years on from its vintage date is showing very young bright and full of rich fruit and Pommard terroir. Rich and flavorful on the nose with deep aromas of black cherry red flowers and a hint of vanilla bean. Very invigorating on the palate with fresh flavors of cranberry some blue fruit and a very attractive silken texture that I just can't get enough of. The finish skyrockets past the one-minute mark. The warm vintage really benefited this vineyard that abuts the D973 giving it a rich texture and a long life ahead of it though it's drinking fantastically well now. Grand Cru quality.
