jamessuckling.com, August 2014

A return to regular form after the wild 2003 edition, this is business as usual in terms of the composed and complex swagger that is a hallmark of Dom. Good deep autolysis here, toasty yeasty characters wrap around a...

View From The Cellar, May 2018

96+ The 2004 Dom Pérignon is another great classic in the making, and this is one of those vintages that will truly deserve all of thirty years’ worth of bottle age, so that it can fully blossom and deliver fully its...

Wine & Spirits, December 2014

With all the lush plenitude of the 2004 vintage, this wine’s explosive flavors give it a bold, broad, layered impression on the palate. But the tight structure and edgy tension of the acidity reins it in, capturing the...

Wine Enthusiast,

This is a very fine wine with considerable bottle age. From its orange-pink color to its mature toast and almond flavors, this complex wine is much more than the fruit that has merged with the secondary flavors. Light...

Wine Spectator, December 2014

A graceful Champagne, with minerally drive. Firm acidity and a rich vein of smoky mineral meshes with the plush texture, offering finely woven flavors of mirabelle jam, toasted brioche, crunchy pear, honey and smoked...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, April 2020

The 2004 Dom Pérignon is one of the more reductive, autolytic vintages of this wine to have been released in the last decade, offering up a toasty bouquet of pears, green apple, iodine, peach and smoke. On the palate...

Decanter, November 2018

In 2004, quality and quantity were happy bedfellows, especially in the vineyards of the Côte des Blancs. Geoffroy said that by now he had the confidence and experience to stand back a little and allow nature to do its...

TheWineCellarInsider.com, November 2013

Notes of brioche, lemon peel, minerality, cocoa powder and citrus, this medium bodied wine has good freshness, ripe fruits and energy, but lacks the weight, depth, excitement and complexity of other recent, more heralded...

Since 1743 when it was founded, Moet & Chandon has been passing down unequaled winemaking savoir-faire and an innovative and pioneering spirit from generation to generation. Founder Claude Moet was the first to embody these values when he made his Champagne the most sought-after in Europe. With his grandson, Jean Remy Moët, a pioneering and visionary mind, Moet & Chandon became a major international champagne brand. This saga quickly transformed the family House into a worldwide symbol of success.

The 1,190 hectares of rich limestone soil, 50% of which is classed as Grand Cru and 25% Premier Cru, make up the largest vineyard area in Champagne. Underground, the Moet & Chandon cellars are the most extensive in the region. Extending more than 28 kilometers, they form a subterranean labyrinth where the wine metamorphoses under optimum conditions of humidity and temperature.

Moet & Chandon is part of the luxury brands group LVMH, whose other prestigious wine holdings include Chateau d’Yquem, Cheval Blanc, Cloudy Bay, Krug, and Newton Vineyard, to name a few.

Possibly the world’s most recognized and iconic Champagne, Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon is always a vintage-dated wine comprised of the classic varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Elegant and graceful with excellent aging potential, it is produced only in those harvest years that the Chef de Cave declares to be of exceptional quality.

Dom. Pierre Perignon, revered as the spiritual “Father of Champagne”, was a 17th century Benedictine Monk and cellar master at Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers. He had a singular mission: to create the best wine in the world. To that mission, he dedicated 47 years of his life to invent and perfect the techniques to create a wine whose reputation knows no equal. His life-long work acquired a reputation for excellence which spread rapidly throughout the region, including the favor of the Royal Court during the reign of King Louis XIV.

Today, Richard Geoffroy, Chef de Cave and Creator of Dom Perignon Vintages, perpetuates the spirit of Dom. Pierre Perignon. The wine is produced by Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the largest luxury brand group in the world.
