(93+ points) The 2004 Riesling Brand Vendange Tardive displays an amber color and shows a matured, even slightly aged bouquet of dried apricots, dates, tea, wild honey, white nougat and dried porcini. Dense and round on the palate, this is a filigreed and elegant VT from the granite terroir of the Grand Cru Brand that reveals a stimulating and savory finish with fine, tart tannin grip. This is possibly not the very best bottle (the color is really dark and the cork broke when I pulled it out), but it was a tasting of older vintages in a restaurant, so I had to accept it. 11.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in January 2023. - Stephan Reinhardt
