It's the quintessential Australian Shiraz in many respects - the sort of wine you'd have to be a fool to mistake for anything else in a blind tasting - and admittedly it has been a while since I mistook a Chateauneuf for a Cabernet.. </br>Plenty going on here with full on charry BBQ sauciness coffee bean vanilla ripe black cherry and plum fruit with a dried mint fragrance. It's full bodied and flooded with sweet dark fruit an appropriately savoury Barossa earthiness and again the dried mint flavour backed with well measured vanilla oak. Smooth powdery tannins excellent weight and freshness and a long finish complete the picture. It's sumptuous generous and dangerously easy to drink. In short it's bloody good wine. _Gary Walsh
