The 2004 Alidis Gran Reserva was sourced from 65+-year-old vines and spent 30 months in French oak casks. It surrenders a captivating nose of scorched earth espresso lavender incense and assorted black fruits. Velvety-textured plush and full-flavored this buxom effort has the structure and balance to evolve for 3-4 years and will offer a drinking window extending from 2013 to 2029. </br>Bodega Vina Mambrilla is a small family-owned estate in Ribera del Duero. Their new releases all produced from Tempranillo are uniformly excellent.-Jay Miller

Classic Tempranillo nose of mocha-covered black fruit freshly ground pepper and crushed rocks. Focused wild blackberry black currant and spice lead the entry followed by a palate-coating layer of bittersweet chocolate black licorice tobacco and Provencal tapenade. The finish completes an attractive package with ultra-creamy and well integrated French oak. It's great to have a new arrival that has over three years of Bodega cellaring! Voluptuous and delicious now it can be laid down for another 3 to 7 years. Got Steak au Poivre?
