A dead-ringer for a top-notch premier cru Volnay is the 2004 Pinot Noir Cuvee Alyce. Made from Dijon Clone 777 it offers up hints of sweet strawberries and black cherry liqueur intermixed with flowers and crushed rocks. The lovely texture full body purity elegance and crisp underlying acidity suggest this gorgeous Pinot Noir will drink well for a decade. Kudos to Stephen Hansel for keeping prices so realistic.
