The 2005 Barolo Fossati is the darkest and richest of these Baroli which is a bit surprising given the lighter nature of the vintage. The Fossati shows quite a bit of juiciness in its dark raspberries flowers and sweet French oak. All of the elements come together beautifully in this expressive fruit-driven Barolo. Barolo Fossati does indeed show awkward oak notes at first and that’s why it’s important to hold this wine a few more years in your cellar.
