Once again Cogno has turned out a beautiful Dolcetto d'Alba in 2005. A lively ruby it presents classic blue and black fruit with delicate notes of tar and almonds. It is a structured somewhat austere Dolcetto that will require some air before offering its finest drinking. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2009. Perhaps because they initially come across as being somewhat reticent Cogno's wines don't attract the following they should but those who take a closer look will discover a producer making wines of the highest level.Importer: Vias Imports New York NY; tel.
