Reviews for 2005 Fevre, Domaine William Chablis Bougros Grand Cru

Wine Enthusiast - Wine Enthusiast, February 2008
Open, generous and relatively opulent, showing all the richness of 2005, along with peaches, apricots and tropical fruits. It’s round from start to finish, a luscious Chardonnay. Just some crispness at the end.

Musky aromas of citrus fruits and gunflint. Fresh, fruity and concentrated if a bit youthfully subdued today. In a gentle, rounder style but with good spicy definition. Is this as dense as the '06?

This too displays a discreet touch of wood with citrus, oyster shell and algae notes that merge into big, muscular and robust flavors that are quite rich but not heavy or rustic, all wrapped in a sappy and palate staining... This too displays a discreet touch of wood with citrus, oyster shell and algae notes that merge into big, muscular and robust flavors that are quite rich but not heavy or rustic, all wrapped in a sappy and palate staining finish. This is more mineral than usual as well as quite precise for such a big wine and I particularly like the sense of energy as this avoids any sense of heaviness, which is particularly impressive in the context of the vintage as some wines can be heavy. Drink: 2011+

More sweetly oaky on the nose, riper citrus and grapefruit. Mouthfilling even though it is tight and tense. 17.5/20 (JH)
