James Halliday - James Halliday, January 2007
As deeply coloured as Ferrous; the ripest (apparently) and most powerful especially in terms of structure; some foresty tannins just make their presence felt and add to the character of the wine.

Deep dark and brooding this Volnay-like pinot marries its slightly meaty expression of dark cherries plums and berries with slightly funky undertones of smoked sausages and musky minty nuances. It's still rather closed and bruising but has the length and strength to handle extended cellaring.

Explosively perfumed aromas of vibrant red and dark berries fresh rose and musky underbrush. A dead ringer for a Vosne-Romanee showing sweet but focused raspberry and wild strawberry flavors complicated by licorice and roasted coffee. This suave silky midweight boasts outstanding finishing sweetness and precision not to mention length. -Josh Raynolds
