There are approximately 500 cases of the 2005 Chardonnay Cuvee Indigene a spectacularly concentrated complex effort offering up scents of smoky hazelnuts tangerine oil tropical fruits crushed rocks creme caramel and smoke. It boasts perfect equilibrium fabulous purity and layer upon layer of flavor. A selection of the finest barrels the Point Rouge Chardonnay got its name when Helen Turley made the first unfiltered Chardonnay at Peter Michael in 1987 and put a small red dot on the bottle in order to compare it with the filtered versions. Subsequent tastings proved the unfiltered wines were always better hence the birth of this luxurious cuvee.
