The early season hail that severely reduced the crop potential in this vineyard in '05 clearly shows up here as the lower yields enabled the fruit to become very ripe, indeed to the extent that there is almost new world ripeness on the nose. There is however impressive flavor concentration that really coats the mouth with dry extract and despite the ripeness, this remains reasonably well balanced though at present, it's not as complex or spicy as one might reasonably expect and I would call this attractive and delicious rather than profound.
