Arguably the wine that defines the Yalumba ethos; a cabernet–shiraz blend that recognizes long-standing devotees of the business and its culture. Shared between two long-term employees, Greg Pullen and Jeff Smith, the 2005 vintage is a wine of classic character and proportion. Mixed berries, hints of leather, red fruit, plums and cassis are all here, along with dry green leaves, savory oak and earthy complexity. The palate is savory and assertive with terrific balance; both varieties work together seamlessly and draw long and true through the finish. Drink or hold.
