Tasted at the de Myrat vertical at the property. The 2005 Château de Myrat needed some aeration to rid itself of SO2, but it is worth persevering, because underneath lie attractive pineapple, quince and marmalade scents, orange blossom emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with honey, quince and a touch of bitter orange. While the nose does not quite live up to the previous bottle that I tasted, the 2005 could be considered to be the first vintage to relive the glories of yesteryear, before the vineyard fell into deprivation and flirted with extinction. Drink this now and over the next decade. Tasted April 2016. - Neal Martin
