Coming from a hot growing season that saw heavy rains at harvest (particularly for the Médoc), the 2006 Château Marojallia showed brilliantly and is a ripe, layered, seductive beauty that certainly over-delivers. Fully mature aromatically, with ripe blackcurrant, dark cherry, chocolate, and spice, as well as hints of truffle and saddle leather, it has classic Margaux complexity and nuance. Medium to full-bodied, with a deep, concentrated, ripe palate, it has sweet, integrated tannins and outstanding length on the finish. Give bottles a quick 30 minutes in a decanter if drinking any time soon and it will evolve gracefully over the coming decade.
