I really like the perfume of dried cherries on this wine. Full bodied and with a wonderful velvety tannin structure with a long and forceful finish. Find the wine

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2011

The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is a beautiful wine laced with red berries flowers and subtle hints of earthiness. Soft and supple throughout the Brunello shows lovely juiciness in its fruit and a delicate understated...

Wine Enthusiast, April 2011

Castello Banfi's 2006 Brunello opens with smooth and soft cherry flavors and is packed tight with background aromatics that include tobacco cola leather and more dark fruit. The wine's texture is silky crisp and long-lasting.

Wine & Spirits, April 2011

A substantial and forceful sangiovese grosso, this has dark scents of fruit skin and floral, tomato leaf character. It's lean, firm and peppery in the finish, needing several years for the tannins to mature and integrate...

Wine Spectator, June 2011

Smooth and round, this red offers cherry, bitter almond, spice and woodsy notes. The tannins are dense, but this is balanced overall and lingers on the finish. Best from 2013 through 2022. – BS

Castello Banfi, a family-owned wine estate in the Tuscany region, was founded in 1978 by Italian-American brothers, John and Harry Mariani.

The Banfi territory encompasses 7,100 acres of land in Montalcino, of which about one third is planted with Sangiovese, Moscadello and other notable varieties on extremely rich and uniform soils of clay and calcium.

Banfi Piedmont was founded with the acquisition of the historic Bruzzone winery. The holdings there extend between the towns of Novi Ligure and Acqui over an area of 124 acres of which 114 are under vine.

The Banfi vineyards in Bolgheri, located south of Castagneto Carducci, give life to the prized Aska, bringing together intensity, roundness and structure.

Banfi also manages 100 acres of specialized vineyard in Chianti which bequeaths wines that bring together structure, elegance, and typical Tuscan personality.
