Clearly made in a leaner style than today's high-alcohol cult style it trades some richness for elegance and finesse. This is a wine that puts its bet on cellaring. Try after 2013. S.H.

On the nose red raspberry and cassis lead into a touch of scorched earth and toasty oak. The wine is big and bold on the palate with well integrated but chewy tannins and bright red fruit dominates the flavor profile while plenty of lively acidity carries through to the finish. Best to age for another 2 years as this still needs time to fully integrate it can last easily through 2020.
