From a parcel at the top of the Clos de Vougeot slope this wine shows fine concentration and rich tannins. It has a velvet allure that allows the sweet fruits to shine but then reveals solid tannins. Black fruits wood spice and fresh acidity all sit well in the mix. - R.V.

There is still mild wood in evidence on the earthy red and blue pinot fruit that also evidence hints of smoke and animale. There is excellent volume to the concentrated and intense medium weight plus flavors that possess a relatively soft and forward mid-palate yet they tighten up quickly on the serious firm and impressively long finish. This moderately robust effort has put on a bit of weight and added depth as well so I have upgraded my score slightly and I have also extended my estimated drinking window by a few years as well. This should be excellent in time.
