Reviews for 2006 Figeac Bordeaux Blend

WS 91
Wine Spectator - Wine Spectator, March 2009
Blackberry blueberry and plum aromas with hints of sweet tobacco. Full-bodied with chewy tannins and a mineral currant and licorice aftertaste. A little austere but structured. Dense. Impressive. Best after 2014. -JS

This elegant precocious surprisingly soft up-front-styled St.-Emilion possesses a dark ruby/purple color as well as sweet aromas of menthol fruitcake cherries and black currants. Round and medium-bodied with silky tannins and a sensual evolved precocious style it can be enjoyed over the next 10-14 years.

Rich chocolate aromas surround dark blackberry fruit over lighter notes of clay and earth. In the mouth the wine has great balance front to back. It is very smooth lush and bright. Higher toned acids keep the bright red fruits light and fresh allowing the tannic power to build through the finish leaving lingering notes of rich coffee cherry and hints of vanilla.
