Fuligni is a family-owned estate on the eastern side of Montalcino. The vines, which extend over ten hectares, are primarily located at Cottimelli with altitudes varying from 1,250 to 1,500 feet. Average age of the vines is about twelve years with some dating back more than thirty years. The estate’s four vineyards are planted with Sangiovese, complemented by a small portion of Merlot.

The Fuligni range consists of the regular Brunello, a Brunello Riserva, a Rosso (Ginestreto), and an IGT Toscana made from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot.

Fuligni Brunello is the result of carefully selected grapes coming from low yields per hectare. It is not produced in years when the quality of the harvested grapes is not suitable to maintain the high standards of the estate. It is aged for four years, of which approximately two and a half are in wood.

Fuligni’s regular Brunello di Montalcino–with its elegant combination of fruit and spicy aromas–can age, but is designed for early drinking.

Introducing the 2006 Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino, a captivating red wine from the esteemed region of Tuscany, Italy. This wine exudes elegance, complexity, and finesse, making it a standout vintage that wine enthusiasts simply cannot overlook.

In the glass, the Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino 2006 showcases a deep red color that hints at the depth and intensity within. Its aromatics are nothing short of mesmerizing, with sweet floral notes taking center stage and weaving through a core of expressive red fruit. As the wine opens up, nuances of blueberries, blackberries, and toffee emerge, adding to its already complex bouquet.

On the palate, this Brunello truly shines. It boasts a full and velvety texture, with soft and silky tannins that caress the tongue. The wine's structure is impeccably balanced, with a beautiful polish that showcases its exceptional craftsmanship. Flavors of sweet fruit, earth, and subtle hints of vanilla dance on the palate, while a touch of acidity adds brightness and vibrancy.

The Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino 2006 has received high praise from critics, further solidifying its status as a top-tier wine. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate awarded it an impressive score of 96 points, applauding its purity, finesse, and the way the fruit shines through. James Suckling also bestowed a score of 96, praising its complexity and subtle nuances. Wine Spectator awarded it 94 points, noting its fine intensity, supple texture, and long, spicy finish.

With an alcohol percentage of 14.5%, this wine has the potential for long-term aging. While it is already showing tremendous depth and character, it is recommended to cellar it until at least 2016 to fully appreciate its evolution. However, if you simply cannot resist the allure of this Brunello, it can be enjoyed now with well-seasoned braised meat or other hearty dishes.

The 2006 Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino is a true gem from Tuscany, offering a sensory experience that is both captivating and unforgettable. Its impeccable craftsmanship, finesse, and complexity make it a must-have for any wine connoisseur or collector. Don't miss the opportunity to savor this superb Brunello.
