The basic cuvee of traditional Chateauneuf du Pape the 2006 is a blend of 75% Grenache 15% Syrah and the rest Mourvedre. Pure kirsch liqueur notes intermix with lavender pepper and some loamy soil notes and are followed by a deep dense wine with outstanding potential. Full-bodied with soft tannins and low acidity it should drink beautifully for 12-15 years.

Ruby-red. Spicy red and dark berry aromas are complicated by musky tobacco and underbrush. Firm and youthfully dry with medium weight and chewy cherry and cassis flavors carrying through the finish. Seems a bit tough... Ruby-red. Spicy red and dark berry aromas are complicated by musky tobacco and underbrush. Firm and youthfully dry with medium weight and chewy cherry and cassis flavors carrying through the finish. Seems a bit tough today but that's most likely just youth.
