The 2006 Pinot Noir Goldschmidt Vineyard is dark ruby-colored with an enticing nose of pain grille mineral spice box black cherry and plum. This leads to a mid-palate in which an earthy sauvage note emerges for additional complexity. The finish of this superb effort is velvety seamless and persistent. Give it 1-2 years of further bottle age and drink it from 2010 to 2018.Adelsheim Vineyard founded in 1971 continues to be a benchmark winery under the stewardship of David Adelsheim. The winery makes a full range of excellent white wines offered at very fair prices but the focus remains Pinot Noir. The 2006 vintage ranks as one of the best for Adelsheim and the 2007s are exceptionally promising.
