The 2007 Barolo Parej emerges from the glass with spices freshly cut flowers licorice and sweet red cherries. It is a relatively mid-weight wine for the year but the bright red fruit nevertheless shows considerable depth. Sweet floral notes wrap around the finish. The Parej is a supple fruit-driven Barolo but I find myself drawn in by the wine-s exuberant sexy personality. Silky tannins frame the long finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.
