The 2007 Ducru-Beaucaillou, 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot, is deep garnet in color with a touch of brick. It bursts from the glass with mature notes of cigar box, prunes, tar, and sauteed herbs, leading to a core of redcurrant jelly, dried figs, new leather, and iron ore. The medium-bodied palate is soft and lifted with mouth-coating, mineral-laced red and black fruits and a chewy texture, finishing with an herbal lift. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown
