The slightly richer and more ambitious of the Carmel Road pair this weighty well-ripened Chardonnay combines extracted ripe apple fruit with a full dose of sweet oak and hints at peach and pineapple here and there. A touch uneven insofar as it tightens up at the end after starting out on a rounded slightly glyceriny note it has the fruity depth to win endorsement even if it does not fully smooth out over time.
