The balance with the wood aging is so right that you feel the toast rather than tasting it. As it matures, the wine will deepen in intensity and power, certainly over the next 5–10 years.

The 2007 has a nutty / yeasty character plus a pleasant savoury meatiness on the nose with underlying notes of apricot kernels, lemon curd and crushed stones. The 2007 has a nutty / yeasty character plus a pleasant savoury meatiness on the nose with underlying notes of apricot kernels, lemon curd and crushed stones. The palate has great tension with lots of tightly wound fruit and a very crisp acid line, finishing long and minerally. It's completely savory, with the cool feel of a cave. The fruit is there in the sense of citrus and orange blossom, but it's held tight under the influence of oak. There's something honest about the wine that ties it to others from the domaine.

Ripe, verging on apricot in flavor, with hints of nectarine, grapefruit and vanilla, yet minerally. Full-bodied and sinewy, with a juicy finish. Best from 2011 through 2020. – BS

Ice-cream, vanilla, apples, bread, lemon and all that remarkable flint and slate essence of Burgundy. Excellent. (RH)
