A winemaker's vintage ('extreme Oceanic' is how Lafleur's cellar master Omri Ram put it), where you really had to know how to react to the climate as it impacted your own vineyard. The result, at 12 years of age, is a clear sign that the team at Lafleur can do this with their eyes closed. This is a beautiful time to begin drinking the 2007, and in fact it showed among the best of the line-up, impressively so for a year that had plenty of challenges. It’s silky and seductive while also delicate and juicy with tons of Pomerol signature - brushed tannins, slate-edged minerality, blueberry and blackberry fruits, with salinity, soft woodsmoke and crushed rose petals adding a floral top note to the finish.
