With only 200 cases produced the 2007 Core Mister Moreved Alta Mesa is a fantastic blend of 93% Mourvèdre and 7% Grenache that offers up knockout aromatics of cassis and blackberry fruit graphite raw meat and ripe herbs and spices. It's dense and compact but still shows wonderful complexity and richness. Medium to full bodied in the mouth it has beautifully rich fruit an regal texture and amazing purity. The wine is kept light and fresh by plenty of acidity and it's impressively balanced. Those who don't like tannins should hold off because there's no shortage of them on the finish. They're buffered by plenty of fruit but they're still there. Outstanding stuff and a joy to drink.
