The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape A La Gloire de Mon Grandpere is a blend of 98% Grenache and 2% Cinsault and other varieties (from 60- to 80-year-old vines) explosive aromas of plums licorice figs black cherries raspberries and loamy resiny notes jump from the glass. Full-bodied with tremendous seductive powers in its level of glycerin and rich broad expansive fruit it is a wine without make-up so to speak since it is aged in old wood foudres as well as tanks and a handful of demi-muids. Drink this beautifully textured sumptuous 2007 over the next 12-15 years.
