Reviews for 2007 Mongeard-Mugneret, Domaine Grands Echezeaux

A classy red silky and elegant whose blackberry black currant and licorice flavors build to a long finish. Harmonious with a mineral element playing out on the aftertaste. Best from 2013 through 2025. 90 cases imported. -BS

An overtly ripe nose seems to lack just a bit of freshness though there is solid complexity to the earth and spice-inflected red berry fruit aromas that display only wisps of secondary development. While the barely middle weight flavors are on the lighter side they do offer reasonably good richness and the same fine depth as the nose, all wrapped in a lingering finish where the supporting tannins are mostly if not completely resolved. This could easily be enjoyed now though I would be inclined to hold it another 3 to 5 years first. In sum this is pretty rather than a classic example. 2019+
